The dolphin show at the Baltimore National Aquarium.
I love going to aquariums and museums. There’s just something about seeing things that you usually never get a chance to experience: creatures from the depths of the ocean, the creative innovation of a painting, the artifacts from an ancient civilization.
On this day, I was visiting the Baltimore Aquarium with some of my best friends. I usually enjoy going to a museum by myself on a slow day so I can quietly appreciate the exhibits when they’re not crowded. But I love spending company with someone who is just as fascinated as I am.
Also, I later found out that someone from my school was actually one of the trainers in the dolphin show. Small world. :)

don’t forget that we also played the “uncomfortable game,” when the exhibits simply were too crowded to enjoy properly. this game was particularly effective with the four of us. when there was something we wanted to see, we simply fanned out to surround the people who were in our way. slowly, we would close in a step at a time, until we had violated everyone’s personal space.
most socially-conditioned people were made uncomfortable once they realized how close we were all standing; they hurried to vacate the area before they could feel us breathing down their necks. the result? we were free to enjoy each display, crowd-free.
one of my favorite memories of the baltimore aquarium, i think.
