I Am Alive not to come to PC, Ubisoft blames issues with piracy
In a rather unsurprising bit of news, Ubisoft has announced that I Am Alive, an upcoming survivalist FPS/third person platformer, will not be coming to the PC, though it will still be available via PSN and XBLA sometime in March/April 2012.
Stanislas Mettra, creative director of the game, has gone on to say “We’ve heard loud and clear that PC gamers are bitching about there being no version for them, [but] are these people just making noise just because there’s no version or because it’s a game they actually want to play? Would they buy it if we made it?” when giving an interview to IncGamers.
Ubisoft has a rather sour relationship with many PC gamers, seeing as other titles such as Driver: San Francisco and From Dust have utilized always-online DRM (which has seen abuse on numerous occasions and kept out legitimate users) and the anger of PC gamers on this title seems ire as well.
This final report seems to be a direct contrast to what earlier reports indicated. The game was originally scheduled a release on the PC alongside the PSN and XBLA versions. According to Mettra, piracy is why it will not be.
