Raise your hand if you watched the movie first and then read the books. Is there a reverse of that experience where the everything in the film is so perfect? 

Hand raised. HAND RAISED.  I totally did not appreciate POB until I’d seen the movie and realized that dude just does not give a shit about traditional norms of building-climax-ending novel construction, and it’s glorious because of it.

yes. i agree with all of the above. thank you, one of the most rewarding and under-appreciated series i think i own.
